John T. Campbell

Mr. John T. Campbell, 85, of Jonesboro, passed away May 20, 2008. He was a retired welder for General Motors. Funeral services will be held May 24, at 1 p.m. He will be in-state at noon, at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Jonesboro, with Rev. Martin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Campbell is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Brosius and Barbara Tolbert, of Jonesboro; brother, Sam Campbell, of Jonesboro; sister, Ethel Maddox, of Suwanee; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel.

Emma M. Grant

Emma M. Grant, 77, of Jonesboro, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 24, at 11a.m., at Pope Dickson and Son Funeral Home-Jonesboro Chapel, with Rev. Randy Young officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 23, from 5-8 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther "Pete" Grant. She is survived by her son, Greg Grant, of South Daytona Beach, Fla.; granddaughter, Kimberly Grant; and sister, Frances Johnson.

June Wilkins

June Wilkins, 78, of McDonough, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 23 at 1p.m., at Pope Dickson and Son-Morrow Chapel, with Rev. Tom Shannon officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Wilkins, and son, Richard Allen Wilkins. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Tommy and Sandy Wilkins, George and Charlotte Wilkins, Mike and Robin Wilkins, Teresa and Russell Barrett, Pat and Roger Hamilton, Aaron and Angela Wilkins, Ricky Wilkins; and daughter-in-law, Linda Wilkins; 23 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Bertha C. Hammonds

Mrs. Bertha C. Hammonds, 81, of Jonesboro, passed away May 21, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro for more than 50 years.

Surviving are her husband, Mr. Spence G. Hammonds; sons, Thomas S. (Tom) Hammonds, of McDonough, and Casey F. Hammonds, of Hampton; brothers, Earl Casey, Renvile Casey, and Arnold Casey; sisters, Polly Rawls, Nancy Raynor, Rachel Dixon, Grace Knowles, and Frances Jones; grandchildren, Courtney Anne Hammonds, Cole Bryant Hammonds, and Ross Bryant Hammonds; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 24, at 11a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, with Reverend Irvin Pearre officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
