Mrs. Mimi McDonald, 47 of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.
Mimi was born in Tampa, Fla., Feb. 7, 1961.She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Mull, her brother, Doug Clontz, and her nephew, Cody Clontz.
Survivors include her husband, David McDonald, of Jackson; daughters, Courtney (Chuck) Jackson, of Griffin, Jennifer (Chris) Harrison, of Stockbridge, Michelle McDonald, of Jackson, Lauren McDonald, of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Makenzie Jackson, Cameron Harrison, Kylie Harrison, Kadin Harrison, Preston Jackson; sisters, Missi, Polly and Tina; brothers, Robby and Glen.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Joy, 3080 Hwy. 362, Williamson, Ga., (770) 227-1671, on Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. Pastor Ron Laney will officiate. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Cremation Society of the SOUTH @ Eagle's Landing is in charge of arrangements, (770) 692-1181.
Robert Lewis Sims, Sr.
Robert Lewis Sims, Sr., 83, of 108 Carver Road, McDonough, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, following several years of declining health.
Services are planned for 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Locust Grove. Officiating will be the Rev. Darryl Gause; the Eugolist, Rev. F. E. Fuller.
The body will be at the Putnam Memorial Funeral Home, 105 Agnes Dr., Eatonton, Ga., until Saturday, at which time, it will be brought to Speer & Speer Funeral, McDonough, with visitation from 7 p.m., to 8 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Mr. Sims, son of the late William and Iona Sims, was born July 30, 1925 in Henry County.
Survivors include wife, Eddie Florence Sims; 6 sons, Robert Sims, Jr., Jerome Sims, Hiram (Lydia) Sims, Gary (Roxanne) Sims, Undra R. (Yolanda) Sims, and Bernard Sims; 3 daughters, Eddie R. Stalls (Willie, Jr.), Shelia Martin (Jeffery), and Vanessa Sims; 3 brothers, William (Louise) Sims, Jr., Wendell (Lucille) Sims, and Calvin (Delores) Sims, Sr.; 7 sisters, Rubye Brown (James), Mildred Ponder (George), Margie Pelly, Shirley Cloud (Alexander), Carolyn McDaniel (Bobby), Patricia Stafford (Harry, Sr.), and Lelia Byrd (Wilbert); one sister-in-law, Alberta Sims; one aunt, Tommie L. Glover; 20 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

Tamara "Tammy" Renee Schuler, of McDonough, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008. Arrangements by Thomas Scroggs Funeral Directors, Morrow, Ga.
Mr. William Owen Matlock, 78, of Hampton, passsed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough. He was born Arpil 21, 1930, in McCrory, Ark., the son of the late William Arthur Matlock and Ada Irene Massey Matlock. Mr. Matlock was a carpenter.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Marie Matlock; sons, James Richard Carlson, William Arthur Matlock, and Michael Owen Matlock, all of Indiana; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Grace Matlock; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Harnise, Betty and Bill Engle, and Bertha and Jerry Nowell.
He was predeceased by special friend, Lillian DeLagasse, and brothers, James Matlock and Jerry Watkins.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Matlock will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m., from the Locust Grove City Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., TODAY (Saturday, Nov. 8).
