Mary H. Davis

Mary H. Davis, of Morrow, passed away Nov, 12, 2008, at the age of 81.

Mrs. Davis was a dedicated employee of Delta Air Lines for more than 30 years and remained active in the Delta Pioneers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, with interment to follow at Morrow First UMC Cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Dunigan and Rev. Ed Judy will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, from 4 p.m., to 6 p.m.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Armon Davis, and is survived by her sister, Allene Brown, of Forest Park; nieces, Carol and Sonny Oswalt, of Rex, Brenda and David Rayburn, of Hampton; great-and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Morrow First UMC, 5985 N. Main St. Morrow, Ga. 30260. Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, Morrow, is in charge of arrangements, (770) 961-2828.

Gregory Payne Gill

Mr. Gregory Payne Gill, 51, of Jonesboro, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy Jane Gill Carr; brother, Jeffrey Paul Gill; nephew and wife, Jackson Paul and Sara Jane Gill; great-nephew, Michael Paul Gill.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m., at the Morrow Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m., until service time.

Mr. Gill graduated at the top of his class from Griffin Tech, in Computer Networking, and was formerly a welder and pipefitter for PCI Corporation. He has also been a devoted caregiver to his mother, who has been suffering from Parkinson's disease for the past several years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in hopes that it may help his mother.
