Mary "Frances" Pate Wall
Mary "Frances" Pate Wall, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Forest Park, during the early morning hours of Nov. 16, 2008, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Wall was born in Whitesburg, in Carroll County, Ga., in 1919, to the late Louis Henry and Mary Louise Pate.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, whose pride and joy were her two sons and her four grandchildren. Frances worked beside her husband in the family business for 30 years. She loved cooking, art and nature.
She was a talented artist and an active member of Arts Clayton in Clayton County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hapeville, where she cherished her sisters in Christ in her Sunday School class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Julian Leroy Wall, of Forest Park, and her only sibling, her brother, Willis Knight Pate, and her sister-in-law, Gloria Richards Pate, of Hapeville.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Julian Dana and Carol Wall, of Whitesburg, and David Lesley and Deborah Wall, of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Lauren Kelli Wall, of Dunwoody, Lesley Lynn Wall, of Stockbridge, Cade Wall, of Whitesburg, and Crystal and TJ Little, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Ward's Parkway Chapel, with Dr. Bob Wiley officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
