Paul W. Alfele
Paul W. Alfele, 66, of Hampton, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Fred H. and Frances Belle Mcfarlane Alfele. Paul was retired from Delta Airlines, after 26 years as a Senior Customer Service Representative.
He was a fisherman, a woodworker, a private pilot, and enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels. He was an active member in the life of the McDonough Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the choir. His greatest devotion was to his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Paul is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Alfele; children, Stanley and Kristie Alfele Cole, of Ellijay, Ga., Ben and Kari Alfele Pack, of Gainesville, Ga., and Matthew Alfele and Meghan Marino, both of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Lauren, Jenna, Ethan and Ellis; brothers, Fred and Pat Alfele, of Atlantis, Fla., and Jim and Nancy Green, of Columbus, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, at McDonough Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dudley Rose and the Rev. Rachael Knoll officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McDonough Presbyterian Church Music Dept., P.O. Box 652, McDonough, Ga.,

Christine Elizabeth Cummings
Christine Elizabeth Cummings, of Morrow, passed away Oct. 8, 2008 at Southern Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet and Will Hansen, of Decatur, Carol C. Bentley, of Jonesboro, Frances and Sherrill Cleveland, of Morrow; grandchildren, Brett H. Bentley, Harold H. Cleveland, John W. Cleveland, Amanda L. Davis, Christi Hansen; great-grandchildren, Brett H. Bentley, Jr., Bryan C. Bentley, Collin Smith, Skylar Smith, Keely G. Cleveland, Christian R. Davis, Scarlett Cleveland; sister, Betty Jo Davis, of Alabama.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m., at the chapel, with the Rev. Marti Slice officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 17, at 1p.m. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Jack Leroy Fruitticher
Jack Leroy Fruitticher, of McDonough, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 at the age of 87. He was born in Valdosta, Ga., to the late James and Lila Fruitticher. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Edna Dodd Fruitticher, and his eight older brothers and sisters, Lila Fruitticher Shuford, Ruth Fruitticher Dunlap, J.C. Fruitticher, Ann Fruitticher Haines, Lawrence Fruitticher, Chris Fruitticher, Beverly Fruitticher and Oliver Fruitticher.
He was a former member of The Rock Baptist Church of Rex, Ga., and later a member of Salem Baptist Church of McDonough, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville, a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and a member of the Shriners. But most important, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a true friend to many. Leroy will be greatly missed.
Mr. Fruitticher is survived by his three sons, Jeroy and wife, Joan Fruitticher, of McDonough, Keith and wife, Sue Fruitticher, of Morganton, N.C., Barton and wife, Elaine Fruitticher, of McDonough; grandchildren, Derain and husband, Brad Roper, of Marietta, Jana and husband, Kevin Cash, of Locust Grove, Steven and wife, Cindy Fruitticher, of Bethlehem; great- grandchild, Will Roper, of Marietta; and many nieces and nephews.
The service celebrating the life of Mr. Fruitticher will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, 2580 Highway 42 N, McDonough, Ga., with thee Rev. Rick Statham and the Rev. Bobby Swafford officiating. Interment will follow at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Rex, Ga.. C. Mark McGouirk, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 at Henry Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie McGouirk, of Jonesboro; daughters, Dannille McGouirk, of Jonesboro, Julie McGouirk, of Jonesboro; son, Cliff McGouirk, of Jackson; grandchildren, Justin Veal, Madison McGouirk; sisters, Tommie Jean Bray, Sara Bing; brothers, Bud McGouirk, Joe McGouirk, Jerry McGouirk; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m., in the chapel, with the Rev. Floyd Carmac officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 4-8 p.m. He will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to ALS or Sacred Journey Hospice.
