Flann is a red miniature Dachshund. He is approximately six and a half years old and he has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. When Flann was rescued from Animal Control, he was suffering from heartworms and extremely advanced dental disease. He had also not yet been neutered. CCHS had Flann totally vetted, and it was assumed that he would be available for adoption as soon as his heartworm treatment could be completed. Then......his former "owners" showed up and wanted to reclaim him. After totally ignoring his health and well-being, they still felt he should be returned to them. Unfortunately for them, but luckily for Flann, CCHS did not think that Flann should go back to his former neglectful life. Flann is now looking for a new, permanent home where he will be loved and cared for throughout the rest of his life. For more information, please call Clayton County Humane Society at 770/471-9436. Britt is a 3 year old, Tortie/Tabby British Shorthair. She has been spayed and fully vaccinated. Britt was found at Animal Control, very pregnant and on the "kill list". CCHS staffers knew that Britt and her babies needed to be saved; so she was rescued and sent to live at the CCHS shelter. Britt is a very sweet girl, but she is timid and afraid of loud noises or sudden movement. While at the shelter, poor Britt has remained in a cage because of the chaotic environment around her. Recently, Britt has been moved into the CCHS office in an effort to get her more accustomed to everyday sounds and movements, and she has done surprisingly well; so much so that she is now taking short breaks from her cage and mingling with others (both human and animal) in the office. Britt is likely going to do best in an "adult-only" home. For more information, please call Robin at 770/478-7531. Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
