Brenda "Sue" Standard
Brenda "Sue" Standard, 59, of Jonesboro, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008. She had been surrounded by her loving family and friends in the last days. She will be missed by her loving spouse of 14 years, Shawn Wooten, of Jonesboro; sisters, Anne Staples, of Rex, and Lee Vaughn, of Smyrna; her twin boys, Marcus Standard, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Michael Standard, of Memphis Tenn.; the child she had guardianship of, Liberty Falkenberry, of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Alex, Mia, Tyler, Tiara, and Zandre. She will be missed by many loving family members and friends.
Sue proudly drove a school bus for Clayton County Schools from Aug. 1978 through Aug. 2002 and then transferred to Henry County and remained there until her passing. Sue touched many children through her 30 years as a school bus driver. She loved children so much that she volunteered from 2004 until her passing, with Clayton County Juvenile Court's Court Appointed Special Advocates Program. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, from 1996 until 2004.
Sue was many things, a spouse, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, a good person, a caretaker; this list could go on for pages. Sue leaves heavy and broken hearts. But memories will keep us until we see her again! Cremation Society of the SOUTH at Eagle's Landing, (770) 692-1181.
