Clayton BOE to hold
meeting on vacant seats


The Clayton County Board of Education will hold a meeting on Monday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m., to discuss appointing new board members to fill at least one seat on the board, at the Central Administration Complex, 1058 Fifth Ave., Jonesboro. An executive session will precede the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Sept. 16

A Special Election will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, to elect someone to represent District 6 on the Clayton County Board of Education for the remainder of former board member Eddie White's unexpired term.


Berry College in Mount Berry recently announced that Jonesboro resident, Amory Dale Mann, made the Dean's List for the Spring 2008 semester. Students must earn a 3.5 Grade-Point Average, while taking at least 12 semester hours, to make the list.


The Clayton County Public Library system offers many services to students, including tutoring programs for those who speak either English or Spanish, and online practice tests and electronic test preparation books for the SAT, GED, ASVAB, and TOEFFL exams.
