Pets of the Week - Sept. 11, 2008

Tanner is 2 year old smooth-coat Collie. He has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. Poor Tanner was found as a stray, and all possible attempts were made to find his home, but unfortunately, to no avail. So Tanner has now found himself a resident of the Clayton County Humane Society shelter. He is a very friendly, good-natured boy and he is extremely clean in his kennel, leading staff to believe that he is housebroken. Tanner is clearly accustomed to being in a home, so shelter life is not an ideal situation for this sweet guy. If you would like more information about how to adopt Tanner, please call Clayton County Humane at 770/471-9436. Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.

Stella is a 4 month old Siamese mix. She has been spayed and is currently completing her vaccination series. Stella was turned in to Animal Control when she was only about 2 weeks old, and had to be bottle-fed by a CCHS volunteer. Stella (named after animal rights activist, Stella McCartney, daughter of Paul) is very small for her age, likely due to not having the natural nutrition that a mom would have provided. But her small size is in no way indicative of her HUGE personality. She has tons of energy and fears nothing at all. She quickly takes control of whatever situation she is placed in; including facing off older, much larger cats than herself. She is a true "power house" and will need a home who has some cat experience, and preferably some experience with the Siamese breed. For more information, please call Robin at 770/478-7531.
