Community-wide prayer rally in Jonesboro Sunday

Sept. 13

Anvil Block United Methodist Church, located at 3895 Anvil Block Road, in Ellenwood, is having a Yard Sale on Sept. 13, from 9 a.m., to 4 p.m. Breakfast may be purchased from 9:30-11 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m., to 2 p.m. Home-baked goods also will be for sale. Sept. 14

On Sunday, Sept. 14, Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church, located at 2165 Highway 138, SW in Riverdale, will host a Spaghetti Dinner, following the 11 a.m., service. The dinner will be prepared by Doug Searcy. Bring an Italian side-dish or salad and dessert and plan on enjoying a wonderful meal. On Sunday, Sept. 14, at 3 p.m., there will be a Community Wide Prayer Rally in front of the Harold R. Banke Justice Center, 9151 Tara Blvd., in Jonesboro. The purpose is to bring Christians of Clayton County together to pray about the school board crisis. The event will be sponsored by the Association of Christian Ministers of Clayton County.

County Line Congregational Christian Church will celebrate its 125th Anniversary and annual homecoming on Sept. 14. Services begin with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., followed by morning worship at 10:30 a.m., a carry-in lunch at noon, and singing and reminiscing in the afternoon. Everyone is invited. First Baptist Church of Lovejoy, located at 2347 Talmadge Road in Hampton, will host an indoor rummage and bake sale on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20, from 8 a.m., to 4 p.m. Many household and office items will be for sale and all proceeds will benefit local missions. Friendship Community Church, located at 4141 Old Fairburn Road in College Park, invites you to its Men's Week 2008, opening with a Men's Only Conference on Monday, Sept. 22 through Wednesday, Sept. 24.
