Rachel Louise Blackshear
Rachel Louise Blackshear, 74, died Sept. 26, 2008. Mrs. Blackshear was a long-time resident of Riverdale, and a faithful member of Riverdale First United Methodist Church.
She loved spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling. She was a trustee of Pleasant Grove Cemetery and a co-founder, with her husband, of Blackshear Real Estate Tax Service.
She was also a charter member of The Gone with the Wind chapter of ABWA, and she volunteered at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. She was an active member of the Heritage Ridge Bunco club.
Mrs. Blackshear was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Banks Blackshear. She is survived by her son, Rick and his wife, Susie Blackshear, of Griffin; daughters, Rhonda and her husband, Jeff Shultes, of Stockbridge, Ramona and her husband, Mike Morgan, of Griffin; grandchildren, Jordan and Hope Blackshear, Katie Shultes, and Mattie and Evan Morgan; brother, Ray and his wife, Evelyn Jones, of Tyrone; sister, June and her husband, Joe Baker, of Fayetteville; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m., at the Carl J. Mowell & Son Chapel, with Dr. Lawrence Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
