Hal Chapman Smith
Hal Chapman Smith, age 73, of Locust Grove passed away on April 1, 2009 at Henry Medical Center from lung cancer. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church. He was known by many as "Uncle Sam" of "Uncle Sam's Sand Art." He brightened the days of many young children with his big smile and laughter as he helped them decorate their sand bottles at local arts festivals.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Barbara Smith. Survivors include his son, Hal C. Smith of Cumming; daughter, Deborah D. Salter of Hendersonville, N.C.; granddaughters, Brandy L. Seyller of South Carolina and Shannon S. Mace of North Carolina; great-grandsons, Noah B. Seyller, Emery J. Seyller, and Noah M. Mace.
Memorial services will be held at St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in McDonough, Friday, April 3, at 3 p.m. Cremation Society of the South at Eagle's Landing. (770) 692-1181.
Harold G. Ramsey
Mr. Harold G. Ramsey of Peachtree City, formerly of Stockbridge, died March 31, 2009. Carl J. Mowell & Son Peachtree City was in charge of the arrangements.
