Henry County Police are asking area residents to be on the lookout for a woman suspected of taking checks from a car in a parking lot, and using them at an area bank.
Local authorities have reportedly obtained evidence indicating the suspect has committed similar offenses in the past in Florida. Henry Police began investigating the case Feb. 20, following an alleged theft at LA Fitness, located at 95 Foster Drive. Police Capt. Jason Bolton said at approximately 5:45 p.m., a woman broke into a vehicle and stole several checks. "The female ... used the victim's checks at the SunTrust Bank in Atlanta the next day," said Bolton. "This person used recently stolen identification from other victims located in Davie, Fla., to cash the victim's checks." Bolton added that purses belonging to the victims in Florida had been stolen from their vehicles while they were parked at a gas station. Anyone with any information on the case is asked to contact Detective Joe Norton at (770) 288-8262, or via e-mail at jnorton@co.henry.ga.us. -- Jason A. SmithMore like this story
