Where is your holy ground? - James C. Bell

In the old testament where Moses first met God, he was told to take off his sandals for he was on holy ground (Exodus 3:5).

I remember the day I met God for the first time. It was in a small church -- the Mountain View Baptist Church, which is now torn down, for it was sold to the Atlanta Airport for airport expansion.

I had been under conviction of my sins for some time, and I felt the Lord loved me and wanted me to repent of my sins and accept His Son, Jesus Christ, as my Savior.

We were having a revival at that time, and the Holy Spirit was pulling at my heart so strongly that I could no longer resist Him. I came to Jesus that day in front of the pulpit of our church and fell on my knees and prayed that God would forgive me of my sins in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ.

What a wonderful moment that was!

I have never felt so good in all my life. Joy filled my heart and I knew, without a doubt, that God did love me and He forgave me of my sins that day, because of my faith and belief in His precious son.

This place has always been my "Holy Ground," even though it doesn't exist any more. It has a special place in my heart and memory because it was there that my God and Savior heard my cry to be saved and came into my life.

Where is your "Holy Ground?"

I know, if you are saved and a child of God, that you have a special place, a special time in your life that you treasure and will remember all your life. How great is our God! I have often wondered how and why a Mighty God, who has made this universe and all that is in it, why He would be mindful of such an unworthy person as me. Why would He care, or even take time to know me and to be so concerned for a lowly soul like me?

How can any man know the heart of God? He is so superior and high above us; His ways are not our ways. His thoughts and mighty acts are so high above our understanding, and yet, He loves each one of us.

He proved His love for us when He sent His one and only son to live among us and to teach us His ways, and not only this, but He knew His Son had to give His precious life as a sacrifice for us. He knew how His Son, whom He loved and was well pleased with, would one day give His life on a cruel cross to provide His cleansing blood, so that all sinners could be saved from the fires of hell and saved to the kingdom of Heaven! Yes!

This was His Salvation plan from the beginning of time, and it is His plan today. There is no other -- Jesus has paid the price, has given His precious life so that you and I and every human can be saved.

What a sacrifice, what love our great God --The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the blessed Trinity -- has given to us! He wants every person in the world to have faith in Him and accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Every one of us has a choice. We can both have faith in God and trust Him to save us, or we can choose to ignore Him and live our life without Him.

Listen, my friend: if you have not put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, you must do it soon, for no one knows if we will have a tomorrow, or not!

We have a choice now, but if one dies without Christ, then he has no choice, he will be judged by Christ and sent to hell, to everlasting punishment.

I hope that every person, who reads this article, will do one of two things -- either accept Christ as Savior, or if you are a Christian, you must tell others how to be saved. I pray all will have a special place which we treasure as our "Holy Ground."翿
