Aug. 8

Greater St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 9540 Fayetteville Road in Jonesboro, will host a church-wide Flea Market on Aug. 8, from 8 a.m., to 2 p.m. There will be clothing, tools, office equipment, and more for sale. For more details, call (770) 210-4100.

St. Augustine's Episcopal Church will host a free community breakfast in its Parish Hall on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 to 10 a.m. The public is invited. "I Pray for Riverdale!" will host a School Prayer Caravan on Saturday, Aug. 8, starting at 10 a.m., in Riverdale. Prayer teams will travel to all the schools in Riverdale and spend time in prayer for teachers, children and school workers. There will be a lunch at First Baptist Church of Riverdale, located at 6805 Church Street in Riverdale, and at 2 p.m., volunteers will distribute school supplies at Chateau Forest Apartments. Aug. 10

The Tobacco Free Coalition and the Clayton County Health Department will host a pastor's prayer breakfast on Monday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m., to 12 p.m., at the Higher Living Community Impact Center, located at 2450 Mt. Lion of Judah Family Worship Center, located at 6030 Ga. Highway 85, Suite 202, in Riverdale, will host its 2009 conference, "Perfecting a Generation 2 Finish Strong - Governing by Stature, Not Status," Aug. 14-16. A "Prophetic Breakthrough Service" will start at 7:30 p.m., on Aug. 14. Hourly sessions will take place from 9:30 a.m., to 3 p.m., on Aug. 15. The Saturday evening service will take place at 5:30 p.m., and the Sunday service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Brad McClary, from Summerville, S.C., will be a featured guest. Aug. 15

The men of Jodeco Road United Methodist Church are sponsoring a low-country boil on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. The proceeds will help send some church members to the men's retreat at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton. The cost is $10 per person. For more details, call (770) 957-8300.

Sept. 11

The Garrison Chaplain's Office of the U.S. Army 3rd Medical Command and Operation Worship are presenting a free concert by Bethany Dillon as part of it's Patriot Day Remembrance and Celebration. The concert will take place at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 11 at Building 900 at Fort Gillem in Forest Park. Prior to the concert, there will be an interfaith service at 10:30 a.m. The concert and the service are free to all military service members, Department of Defense personnel and families.
