Police nab three in school burglaries

Clayton County Police say they have apprehended one adult and two juveniles believed to be responsible for several burglaries that occurred at Clayton County schools over the summer months.

Borus Daniels, 20, of Riverdale, and two Riverdale juveniles, ages 14 and 16, are suspected in a break-in at North Clayton Middle School Saturday, according to Clayton County Police spokesman Officer Kevin Hughes.

Police responded to an alarm call at the school, located at 5517 West Fayetteville Road, College Park, around 11 p.m., Hughes said in a statement.

When officers arrived, a window in the rear of the school was found to be damaged and open.

"Once inside the school, officers located three black males in the media center," Hughes said. "The three males were attempting to remove computer items from inside the media center."

"Officers ordered the males to the ground, but they fled from the school on foot," Hughes said.

All three were later apprehended.

"The suspects admitted to the burglary at the middle school, and also several other burglaries that occurred over the summer at other Clayton County schools," Hughes said.

Daniels was charged with burglary, interference with government property, obstruction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
