lbond@news-daily.com Clayton County police were searching for a man they say robbed a check-cashing store on Tara Boulevard Friday morning, and handcuffed a female employee. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., at the All Check Cashing store at 8139 Tara Blvd., near Jonesboro, according to Officer Kevin Hughes, a Clayton County Police spokesman. "The guy came up behind her [the employee] while she was getting ready to enter the store," Hughes said. "He demanded that she open the safe. She told him she didn't have the combination to the safe." Hughes said the suspect told the employee that she was lying. He said the suspect told the employee he saw her open the safe the previous day. Hughes said the man robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of money, handcuffed the employee, then stole her car keys. "He took the keys to her car, then took her car," Hughes said. He said the car was later found at an apartment complex nearby. A Clayton County Police K-9 unit was brought in to search for the suspect, Hughes said. No description of the suspect was available. Hughes said police were calling the incident an armed robbery, but did not have information on any type of weapon that may have been used.More like this story
