Today, Saturday

First Baptist Church of Jonesboro will host a Beth Moore live simulcast event entitled, "Living Proof Live," today and Saturday. The cost will be $10 for a two-day ticket and $5 for a Saturday meal. On Saturday, Aug. 29 from 12 to 2 p.m., Community Bible Church is hosting "Community 2 Community" (C2C) neighborhood block parties in six locations in Henry and Clayton counties. The parties will feature food and music. Following the parties, attendees will be encouraged to participate in one of many service projects to help make a difference in their community. Sept. 11

The Garrison Chaplain's Office of the U.S. Army 3rd Medical Command and Operation Worship are presenting a free concert by Bethany Dillon as part of the Patriot Day Remembrance and Celebration. The concert will take place Sept. 11 at 11:30 a.m., at Building 900 at Fort Gillem in Forest Park. Prior to the concert, there will be an interfaith service at 10:30 a.m. The concert and the service are free to all military service members, Department of Defense personnel and families. Inman United Methodist Church will be among several sponsors of the 13th annual Inman Farm Heritage Days, taking place Sept. 18-20 from 9 a.m., until dark at Minter's Farm, located at 283 Hills Bridge Road in Fayetteville. Inman Farm Heritage Days is an annual antique-tractor and farm-machinery show which will feature arts and crafts, music, food, and children's activities. The Rev. Sept. 25

Jodeco Road United Methodist Church, located at 1500 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge, will host a movie night on Sept. 25. Concessions will be offered at 5 p.m., and the movie will start at 5:30 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is one non-perishable food item per person. First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, located at 147 Church Street, will host the "Charting the Course" parent seminar with Christian author and speaker, Benny Proffitt, on Sept. 27 from 12:15 to 3:30 p.m. The seminar will focus on how to raise productive citizens of high moral and ethical character, despite the distractions and pressures of society. Sept. 30

Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville will host the second annual Lynn Wheeler Benefit Golf Tournament at Durham Lakes Golf and Country Club in Fairburn on Sept. 30. This year's fundraiser will tee off at 1 p.m. The cost for single players is $85 and $340 for four-member teams. Donations are also accepted.
