Greg Heaton

Greg Heaton, 51, of Jackson, Ga., formerly of Stockbridge, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009.

He was born in Sylacauga, Ala. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and his animals. But most of all, he loved taking care of his mom and dad.

Mr. Heaton is survived by his daughter, Ashley West, of Tennessee; parents, Bill and Dot Heaton, of Jackson, Ga.; one grandson; siblings, Raleigh Heaton, of Sharpsburg, Rodney Heaton, of Williamson, Carolyn Bryan, of Jackson, and Georgia Chancellor, of Appling.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30, at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Steven Hedgecoth officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.

James L. "Jay" Dills

Mr. James L. "Jay" Dills, 95, of Locust Grove, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009. Jay was born in Franklin, N.C., to the late Callie Smith Dills and James L. Dills, Sr., and was preceded in death by 12 siblings.

He was a retired, head meat cutter for A & P Grocery and was a member of Mt. Carmel Road Assembly of God.He was a very active church member and enjoyed yard work, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Dills, of Locust Grove; children, Don Dills, of Gastonia, N.C., Evelyn Lonergan, of Locust Grove, Ed (Colleen) Dowd, of Brooksville, Fla., Ken (Phyllis) Dills, of Locust Grove; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The Rev. Carol Renfroe will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may visit the family Saturday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
