Prostitution sting nets pandering arrests

The Clayton County Police Department's Special Operations Unit executed a prostitution sting on Friday, leading to the arrest of several persons, according to Officer Kevin Hughes, a police spokesman.

The operation began around 4 p.m., on Old Dixie Road and Old Dixie Highway, in the area of Interstate 75 and Tara Boulevard, near Forest Park, Hughes said.

He said the area is one "where prostitutes are normally located."

Three undercover, female, police officers posed as prostitutes during the sting, according to Huhges.

By 7:30 p.m., police had arrested eight men, who were charged with pandering, he said.

"They will be going to the Clayton County Jail," he added. "The fine could be up to $1,000, and [they could get] up to 12 months in jail, or both."

"Prostitution is a crime, and our job is to fight crime, and to rid Clayton County of all criminal activity," he said.
