Clayton County Police are investigating the shooting death of a teenager that occurred early Monday morning at an Ellenwood apartment complex.

Police responded to the shooting at the Cobblestone Flats Apartments, located at 2445 Rex Rd., in Ellenwood, around 12:15 a.m., according to Lt. Tina Daniel, a spokesperson for the police department.

When they arrived on the scene, Antonio Djwan Crocker, 19, was lying in the parking lot, near building I, in a pool of blood, according to a police report.

"I observed a black female, who was later identified as the victim's girlfriend, kneeling down next to the victim, holding the victim's head," police wrote in the report. "I observed a gunshot wound to the right side of the victim's head," the police report states.

"He [Crocker] had severe injuries on the way to the hospital, but he was still alive, and he died once he got there," said GlenNeta Griffin, a police spokesperson. Crocker was pronounced dead at 1 a.m., Monday, at Southern Regional Medical Center, according to Griffin.

Griffin said, according to witnesses, the shots were fired from what appeared to be a 1990's model, green, Toyota Camry, with four men inside.

Police said a door handle was missing on one side of the vehicle, Griffin said.

"I know the officer told me that witnesses said they saw the vehicle there the day before," Griffin said.

Griffin said police did not know the motive for the shooting. She said Crocker was visiting his girlfriend at the apartment complex, and that he did not live in the Cobblestone Flats Apartments.

"As of right now, we don't have any suspects," Lt. Daniel said. "We do have several leads we're looking into," she said.
