Clayton State University will hold its fall 2009 commencement ceremonies today at 4 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., in the school's Athletics and Fitness Center. The 4 p.m., ceremony will be for students graduating from the School of Business, School of Health and College of Information and Mathematical Sciences. The 7:30 p.m., ceremony will be for the College of Arts & Sciences.

The Scholars Academy Charter School will hold a community fund-raiser at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers, located at 1939 Mt. Zion Road, in Morrow, on Saturday, Dec. 12, to raise money for the Riverdale-based school. Community members can print out a voucher, found at www.scholarsacademy.us, or write down voucher No. 10060440, and present it to a Barnes & Noble cashier when making a purchase at the store. The Clayton County Board of Education will hold its December work session on Monday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 p.m., at the Clayton County Public Schools Central Administration Complex, 1058 Fifth Ave., in Jonesboro.

Anderson Elementary School will hold its Parent-Teacher Association Holiday Program on Monday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m., at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center, located at 2530 Mt. Zion Pkwy, in Jonesboro. Students participating in the program are expected to arrive at the PAC by 6:30 p.m., according to the school's web site. The Clayton County Public Library system offers many services to students, including tutoring programs for those who speak either English or Spanish, and online practice tests and electronic test preparation books for the SAT, GED, ASVAB, and TOEFFL exams.
