Christi Lee said she had 23 Christmas trees in her house last year.
"Each child had at least one tree in their room," she said. "Even my closet has a tree," said the 44-year-old Hapeville resident, who said a tree sits in front of a window in her closet.
This year, however, Lee said she only has seven Christmas trees at home, because she's been busy decorating the new, year-round
Christmas-ornament store she opened three weeks ago, at the new, Olde Towne Morrow, in Morrow, near Southlake Mall.
"I've been doing decorating and Christmas my whole life," she said.
Lee is the owner of Christi Trees, which sells hand-decorated ornaments, decorated table-top trees, wreaths, and tree-toppers.
She said, although the store will offer Christmas ornaments year-round, she also sells ornaments that can be personalized with a monogram, name, or theme of any kind.
"I have Michael Jackson ornaments, Tinker Bell ornaments, Georgia Tech ornaments," she said. "If somebody has a birthday, you don't have to wait until Christmas to give it."
Lee said the ornaments make great gifts that can either be hung on a tree, or mounted on a stand, as a desk-top or table-top decoration.
"We decorate for Christmas, but we can put the spirit of Christmas on other holidays," she said. "Christmas should be all year. It helps make your home warm and inviting throughout the year.
"I do trees all year long, like Valentine's trees," she said. "I've always wanted to have a store," said Lee, a wife, and mother of three, who graduated from Southern Technical College in Marietta, in 1989, with a bachelors degree in architectural engineering.
She said this is the first business she has owned, although she has worked in retail management for more than 20 years.
Lee's hand-decorated ornaments range in price from $3 to $12, she said.
Christi Trees is open Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m., to 5 p.m., and Sundays, from 2 p.m., to 5 p.m. Fore more information, contact the store at (770) 961-4010.
