Henry County police are in the third week of searching for a man who robbed a Stockbridge gas station at gunpoint.
The robbery took place at approximately 11:30 p.m., Dec. 17, inside the BP gas station at 1080 West Jodeco Road, according to Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton. "The suspect was described as a light-skinned, black male, early 20s, and about six feet tall," said Bolton. A clerk at the station had closed the business, and was preparing to leave when the robber came up to him outside the store with a gun, according to Brenda Singleton, an assistant manager, who spoke for the station eventhough she was not at the store during the robbery. "[The suspect] made him [the clerk] come back in," said Singleton. "I don't know how much money was taken, but I do know he took a pack of cigarettes," Singleton told police. No one else was in the gas station at the time of the robbery, added Singleton, and no one was injured. Capt. Bolton said the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading west on Jodeco Road. Police did not release additional details regarding the robbery. Authorities have obtained surveillance video footage of the suspect. Anyone with information on the incident, or the identity of the suspect, is asked to contact Police Detective Donell Minton by phone at (770) 288-8306, by FAX at (770) 288-8239, or via e-mail at dminton@co.henry.ga.us.
