God wants to prove His love for you - James C. Bell

I think all Christians and most non-Christians in the U.S.A., feel God loves them. Many would say, of course, God loves everybody.

Most people in our great country believe there is a God, that He is good and that He loves people -- all people. Polls have shown that more than 90 percent of the American people say they think there is a God, and would answer, "yes," if they were asked if they believed in the concept of God, of a Supreme Being.

If this is true, why is it so hard for them to take the next step -- to actually trust in God? Why are people so reluctant to put their faith into action and trust God to have a relationship with them?

Since God is a loving god, we know He is not going to harm us, and since He is the creator of mankind and our world, our universe, we know He is rich and powerful beyond measure or description, and able to help us, even wants to help us. Why, then, don't more people really believe Him and His promises?

Perhaps, it is because most people don't know of His promises. The Holy Bible is God's Word, His truth, and if we believe He is real, that he does exist, couldn't we go a step further and believe in the Bible as well?

Let me share some scripture verses that tell of His love and promises to us. 1st John 4:16-19, Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Ephesians 3:17-19, Jeremiah 31:3 and John 14:21. God's Word is full of promises and instructions for living, and is most worthy of our time to study and read.

After reading these promises God has made to all mankind, I hope you will be inclined to believe in Him and to trust Him to do some great things for you. What kind of great things can God do for you? For a beginning, He promises to give you eternal life! How great is that?

Have you ever been promised eternal life by anyone else? No one but God could make a promise like that! He is Holy God. The one thing He hates is our sin, which is mostly our unbelief, and the thing He loves most is a believing and obedient heart.

Romans 10:9 tells us, "If we confess with our mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved." This is the Word of God telling us how to approach Holy God in faith and tell Him we do believe and want to be forgiven of our sins.

To confess with our mouth is simply to admit we have sin in our life and to say we believe in His Son Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus Christ is confirmed in history. One can go to the holy land and see for himself many of the things described in the Bible. When we get to the place where we can confess or admit we have sinned and believe in the promises of God, of the reality of Jesus Christ, then we can be saved, or kept from the fires of hell by the power of God.

Now there is the opportunity to have a relationship with God. Take a moment and imagine how your life would change if you had a real close friendship with Him. Nothing is impossible with God. He can give us a confidence in life, in our relationships with other Christians, with our families and loved ones, a feeling of true peace and love that comes easily in a close walk with Christ.

He can heal our sickness and disease. He can put our minds at rest, free from worry and distrust about the uncertainties of this world. He can do much more than this. In my own life, He has guided me since I first believed and trusted Him.

Just out of high school, I needed desperately to get a job. I went with a friend of mine to Delta Air Lines to put in his application for a mechanic's job. While there, I put my application in as well and was asked by the employment manager what I wanted to do. I didn't know what to say, for I wasn't a mechanic, nor did I have any skill, but I heard my voice saying, "I just want to work, I'm tired of being without a job."

God had to give me that answer. I was hired on the spot and came to work a few days later. I retired in 1992, after more than 41 years of working for a splendid company. During those years, I never missed a pay check, nor was out of work.

I count this as just one of the many great things God has done for me over the years, since I trusted Him. He will bless your life as well, if you will just give Him the Chance.

Trust Him today!
