Clifford Charles Lovejoy
Mr. Clifford Charles Lovejoy, age 90, of Locust Grove passed away Feb. 9, 2009. He was born in Cabin Creek, W.Va., to the late Charles Elden and Ida Williams Lovejoy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhunell Johnson Lovejoy and siblings, Gaylin Lovejoy, Mary Hammond, Helen Hooper, Frances Williams, and Dorothy Boaz. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II as a flight engineer on the B-17 and retired after 37 years from the Civil Service. He attended the Atlanta Technical School and had a Macon radio show in the 1930s called "Coal Mountain Boys." He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Charles (Helen) Lovejoy of Locust Grove; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brothers, Tommy Lovejoy of Bowersville, Ohio, Kenny Lovejoy of Fairborn, Ohio; sister, Sylvia Spahir of Jamestown, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m., from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
