Albert Ralph Adamson
Albert Ralph Adamson of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009. Ralph was born in Mountain View on April 19, 1915, to parents James Augustus Adamson and Ethel Reeves Adamson. He lived the majority of his life in Clayton County working with his brothers on the James A. Adamson and Son's Dairy Farm. He was an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he was ordained a deacon in 1948. In later years, he was very active in The Rock Baptist Church in Rex.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alton, brother in law, Donal Duffey, and grandson, Arthur Bond. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marilyn McClendon Adamson; son, Albert Ralph Adamson, Jr., (Laurette) of Barnesville; daughter, Miriam Adamson McClendon of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jenny Katherine Tidwell (Paul) of Huntsville, Ala., Albert Ralph Adamson III (Kelly) of Barnesville and Mary Margaret May (Curry) of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Julian Curry May III, McClendon Reeves May, Howard Hickman Tidwell, and Graham Reeves Adamson; brothers, Randolph Adamson (Betty), Harold Adamson (Marty); sisters, Mildred Hoover (Wallace), Ruth Duffey; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m., with Pastors Chris Reynolds and Terry New officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Margaret Carol Brown
Mrs. Margaret Carol Brown, age 61, of Conley died Feb. 14, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Brown; daughter, Cindy Tate; son, Frank Hill; mother, Lucy Burgess; brother, Eugene Burgess; sisters, Susan Barnes and Elaine Adams; granddaughters, Heather Dobbins, Sarah Hill and Tiffany Chapman; grandsons, Blake Warner, Aaron Hill and Justin Path.

George "Ed" Payne
Mr. George "Ed" Payne of Lake City passed away Feb. 16, 2009, at the age of 86.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m., at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors with interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, in Dexter, Ga., at 2 p.m. The Rev. Justin Belew will officiate. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Payne is survived by his wife, Dorothy Payne; daughter, Cathy Belew of Jonesboro; sons, Glenn Payne of Louisville, Ky., and Danny Payne of Jonesboro; sisters, Francis Comer of Gray, and Dorothy Mullis of Dexter; brothers, Jerry Payne and Bobby Payne both of Macon; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
