Eugene B. Hartsfield

Mr. Eugene B. Hartsfield, 83, of McDonough, passed away, Feb. 16, 2009.

He was a lifelong resident of Clayton and Henry counties. Mr. Hartsfield and his loving wife celebrated their 60th anniversary in June of 2008.

He was a member of Eagles Landing Baptist Church and a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and The Rock Baptist Church. He retired from the Nabisco Co., in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Kitty; daughter and son-in-law, Vicky H. and Michael G. Smith, of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Larry E. and Judy Hartsfield, of McDonough; brother, Charles W. Hartsfield, of Jonesboro; sister, Carolyn H. Lee of Tennessee; grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Pullum, Lori (Johnny) Evans, Sharon Hartsfield, Michelle Smith, Meridith Smith, Britany Smith; great-grandchildren, Andrea Perkins (Josh Burdette), Holliann Perkins, Allison Hobbs, Nicole Perkins, Dustin Evans, Kelsey Evans; great-great-grandchildren, Alivia Burdette; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Pastors Paul L. Camp and Steve Bingham will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
