Harlan Gray Fainter
Harlan Gray Fainter, 71, died Feb. 20, 2009 at his home in Jonesboro. He was born in Natural Bridge, Va., on April 3, 1937. He graduated from Natural Bridge High School and joined the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served from 1958 to 1962. He was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer Second Class, with a medal for Good Conduct.
He is survived by his son, Brian Fainter; grandson Matthew Fainter; brother, Maynard; sisters, Mary Ruth, Kate, Sophie, Doris, Caroline, and Joyce.
Harlan was a career Delta Airline employee, from 1962 to 1992, working in Houston, Texas, and retiring in Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at Harrison's Funeral Home, 714 S. Main St, Lexington, Va. 24450, (540) 463-2912. Wake services will be Friday, with burial Saturday morning with military service.

Darby D. Williams
Darby D. Williams, 58, of Forest Park, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m., at Pope Dickson & Son, Morrow Chapel, with Pastor Randy Burns officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Williams; children, Tammy Boyle, Darrell Lyle, Cynthia Sue Elias, Darby Holly Day, Sarah Cearley and Walter Clem Pittman Cearley; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters; two brothers and several nieces and nephews.

Clarence Richards, 71, of McDonough, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. He was raised in Cannelton, Ind., with his late parents, Clarence J., Sr., and Vivian I. Schneider Richards. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Richards.
Mr. Richards was an avid baseball fan and chess player. He is survived by his son, Ethan (Kelley) Richards, of McDonough, and grandson, Ryan Richards, of McDonough.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m., to 11a.m., at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held immediately following the visitation at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Buddy Perstrope officiating.
