Samuel "Art" Sanders

Samuel "Art" Sanders, 80, of Stockbridge passed away on Feb. 25, 2009. Mr. Sanders is a member of Victorious Life Church of God in Conyers. He was an active member of Special Olympics, the Republican Party of Henry County, and was involved with The Jerry Lewis Telethon. He was also a former member of Stockbridge Assembly of God Church in Stockbridge.

Art is survived by his wife, Viola Sanders; sons, David Sanders, Sam Sanders, Vance Sanders; daughters, Sandra Watkins, Denise Holton, Vickey Rattz; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy Sanders, James Sanders, Edward Sanders, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Art will be held on Sunday, March 1, at 2:30 p.m., at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, with Pastor Larry Gunter officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Those wishing, may go on line to and sign the guest registry. Horis A. Mr. Jerry D. Price

Dec. 10, 1936 - Feb. 25, 2009

Mr. Jerry Douglas Price, age 72, of Stockbridge passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 at Henry Medical Center.

Mr. Price was born on Dec. 10, 1936 in Ben Hill, Ga., to the late Ralph P. Price and the late Elsie Wilson Price. He is preceded in death by wife, Nellie M. Barrison Price; three sisters and two brothers. Mr. Price was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during Vietnam. Mr. Price was a member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church and was a member of the Men's Club.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Debbie Price of Milner, Jerry and Donna Price of Canton; daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Gary Green of Stockbridge, Phyllis and Marshall Carpenter of Stockbridge, Tracy and Chris Bigham of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Wylene Warren and Mozell McElhannan; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Douglas Price will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Rev. David Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyside United Methodist Church Cemetery.
