Financial course offered at Community Bible Church

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University (FPU) is coming to Community Bible Church this January. Financial Peace University is a life-changing program that teaches participants how to make the right money decisions. Learn about how to save money, live on a budget, communicate about money, eliminate debt, find bargains, and experience the joy of giving. Cost for FPU materials is $93 per family. Jan. 8

The Clayton County Ministers' Conference and the Clayton County Sheriff Chaplain's Office will host the 2009 annual Clayton County Sheriff's Minister's Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, Jan. 8. The program will start at 8:30 a.m., in the second floor cafeteria of the Harold R. Banke Justice Center at 9157 Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro. Entertainment will be provided by Marcia Stevenson of the local gospel group, ZAMAR. The breakfast is free and open to all ministers and pastors in Clayton County. First Baptist Church of Riverdale, located at 6805 Church St., in Riverdale, will host its Winter Bible Study for two consecutive Sundays, Jan. 11 and 18, from 4:50 to 7 p.m., in the church's fellowship hall. Seminars will be given at 5 p.m., and 7 p.m., each day, the first being "The World has Come to Riverdale ... What do we do Now?" and "Helpful Hints for Sharing Christ with your Neighbors from around the World." The guest speaker will be Bill Johnson, mission connection specialist with the Stone Mountain Baptist Association. The Bible study is for people of all ages and child care will be provided. Let the singles mingle at the hottest Christian club in the heart of Riverdale, Ga., Jazzy J's, the Christian alternative to night time entertainment. On Saturday, Jan. 24, from 7 p.m., to 12 a.m., Jazzy J's is hosting "Singles Night." The Taizé Prayer service is a meditative experience that has been enjoyed by people, young and old, around the world. Its beginnings are in a small community called Taizé, located in France. The overarching theme of a Taizé Worship Service is reconciliation through prayer. This worship experience is offered on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m., in the sanctuary.
