McDonough resident, Babbie Spain, a teacher at East Lake Elementary School, was recently selected to be the recipient of a home makeover, which will be featured tonight, at 8 p.m., on HGTV's "Deserving Design" television series.
Spain, 51, was nominated in 2008, by a long-time friend, Joyce Jacks, who submitted Spain's story to producers of the series. The show renovates the homes of people who have made positive contributions to their communities. Jacks hoped that producers would believe Spain was a deserving candidate for the home renovation. Spain is a board member of Henry County Special Olympics, which serves some 80 special-needs athletes. Her 70-year-old home was renovated during the summer of 2008. - Johnny JacksonMore like this story
