Wisconsin board to vote on Harden's appointment

The University of Wisconsin System's 18-member Board of Regents is scheduled to vote today on whether to hire Clayton State University President Thomas K. Harden as the next chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

The regents will decide whether or not to accept the system's recommendation to hire Harden during a telephone conference meeting which begins at 2 p.m. CST, according to an agenda for the meeting. The regents are also expected to vote on a candidate for chancellor at a second university.

Harden's resignation from Clayton State was announced Dec. 23 by the University System of Georgia, shortly after he was announced as the recommended finalist for the position at Wisconsin-Green Bay. He will step down as Clayton State's president June 1, after nine years at the Morrow campus.

The University System of Georgia has not yet launched a search for Harden's replacement.
