Katie Lee Stephens

Mrs. Katie Lee Stephens, 74, of Young Harris, died Jan. 27, 2009. Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by her husband, Rod Stephens.

She is survived by her sons, Michael R. Stephens and his wife, Renee, of Jackson, and Robert W. Stephens and his wife, Dawn, of Locust Grove; daughters, Patricia Phillips of McDonough, Tammy Cunningham and her husband, Mark, of Roanoke, Ala., and Tina Shotts and her husband, Steve, of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, James Edward Spain, Jr., William Spain, Jack Spain, Edward Spain, Dinky Spain, and Willis Spain; sisters, Nell Browning, Joann Wright, Mildred Quakenbush, Viola Rogers, Bonnie Seagers; and her in-laws, Dolphius Stephens, Joanne Lester and Marge Gersten.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 30, at the Fayetteville chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Cochran officiating. Lillie Buchanan Lunsford

Lillie Buchanan Lunsford, age 79, of McDonough passed in her sleep Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009. She was born in Hayesville, N.C., to the late Henry Robert and Elzia Pearl Watson Buchanan. Mrs. Lunsford was also preceded in death by her husband, George Haley Lunsford. She attended Flippen United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers and raising pet birds. Grandma was on the NASCAR circuit as an avid Earnhardt fan. But most important to her were her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Mrs. Lunsford is survived by her children, Henry and Sharon Lunsford, of Thomaston, Sheila Ann and Paul Thomas, of Lithia Springs; four grandchildren, Marine 1st Lt. Sean and Cyndi Stamps, Graham Lansford, Buffy and Billy Roberts, and Chelsey Hale; five great-grandchildren, Logan and Peyton Stamps, Kaitlin and Cody Hammonds, and Will Roberts; sister, Esta Berrong, of Hiawassee; brothers, L.D. Buchanan, of Blairsville, and James Buchanan, of Hiawassee; and BFF, Frankie Yancey and Margie Lunsford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 30, at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Gary DeMore officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. JoAnn Moses

Mrs. JoAnn Moses, age 71, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009.

She is survived by her children, Byard Moses, Joi Moses, Tony Moses, Tim Moses; sister, Evelyn Henry; brother, Glenn Estes and five grandchildren.

Roy Palmer Savage

Roy Palmer Savage, age 68, of Conley passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009. He loved gardening, attending his church at Rock Springs Baptist in Morrow and his dog and faithful companion, Blackie. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Eugene and Emma Lucile Jones Savage.

He is survived by his brothers, Farris Savage of Jasper, James Savage of Conley; sisters, Evelyn (Woodrow) Reynolds of Griffin, Rita (Bobby) Waugh of Conley, Faye (Ken) Newton of Jasper, Gayle (David) Harris of Barnesville; several nieces and nephews and his church family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m., at Ward's Parkway Chapel with Pastor Tommy Aman officiating. Interment will follow at Starrsville Methodist Church in Covington.
