Clayton County Public Schools will hold its system-wide Spelling Bee competition today at 9 a.m., at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center, 2530 Mt. Zion Parkway, Jonesboro. Monday The Clayton County Board of Education will hold its February business meeting Monday, Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m., at the school system's Central Administration Complex, 1058 Fifth Ave., Jonesboro. For more information, call (404) 362-3865. Notes The United States Air Force recently announced Airman Tanisha L. McNabb, a 2006 graduate of Jonesboro High School, has graduated from a six-week basic military training course at Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas. During her training, McNabb studied human relations, military customs and courtesies, and participated in physical training, rifle marksmanship, and field training exercises. McNabb is the daughter of Jonesboro resident Della Cormier. The United States Army recently announced Pvt. Rawlins C. Bray, the grandson of College Park resident John Hester, has graduated from a nine-week basic combat training at Fort Jackson, in Columbia, S.C. During his training, Bray studied basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, rifle marksmanship, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, and basic first aid. Ongoing The Clayton County Public Library system offers many services to students, including tutoring programs for those who speak either English or Spanish, and online practice tests and electronic test preparation books for the SAT, GED, ASVAB, and TOEFFL exams.
