lbond@news-daily.com Clayton County Police have arrested a College Park man in the Fourth-of-July shooting death of a relative. Eric Patterson, 30, is charged with shooting to death Larry Davis, 34, during a family gathering at Patterson's home, located at 7205 Meadow Circle, College Park, according to Clayton County Police Lt. Rebecca Brown. Police responded to a report of a person shot just before 9 p.m., Saturday, according to Brown. "Family members stated Eric Patterson had shot Larry Davis after an argument, and slight physical altercation," Brown said in a written statement. Police did not have information about how Patterson and Davis were related. Davis, who had been shot in the back, was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries, according to Brown. Brown said Patterson was apparently intoxicated at the time of the incident. Patterson is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and obstruction, according to Brown. He was being held Monday in the Clayton County Jail, according to jail officials.More like this story
