The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials recently selected the Housing Authority of Clayton County's Premier Garden Apartment Homes rehabilitation project as a national "Award of Merit" winner, the authority said.
Housing authority board members will receive the award during the association's summer conference in Portland, Ore., July 16-18. Premier Garden Apartment Homes, on Garden Walk Boulevard in College Park, was noted for creative, sound financing as a mixed-income development, the authority said. The authority initiated the rehabilitation program in the spring of 2005, renaming and rebranding the property, and hiring new management to oversee operations. Before beginning the rehabilitation project, the housing authority refinanced the property to free up $2 million for maintenance and improvements, the authority said in a statement. - From Staff ReportsMore like this story
