Pets of the Week - July 23, 2009

Katie is a brown, spotted tabby, and she is approximately 4 to 5 years old. She has been spayed and all vaccinations are current. Katie was found pregnant and living as a stray, by a CCHS volunteer. She was allowed to live as a "guest" in the volunteer's home, until she could safely deliver her six gorgeous babies. That was good while ago, and poor Katie still sits in a cage, waiting for a real family and a permanent home to come along. Katie is overwhelmed by the many, many cats currently residing at the CCHS shelter, so her last couple of years have been spent in the safety and security of a metal cage. CCHS is working hard to place all of the currently caged cats as quickly as possible, Katie is a really sweet girl, who loves people. And she would likely be okay with one or two other cats in the home; she just can't deal with the large numbers that are found in a shelter situation. Mister is a 6 and a half year old, solid black domestic longhair. He has been neutered and fully vaccinated. Mister was found at Animal Control, soon to be euthanized. He was quickly rescued and taken to the CCHS shelter. He was quickly adopted, but his new "mom" had not carefully considered what was involved in having a pet, and she soon returned poor Mister. Mister has a wonderful personality, and seems to love everyone. He has done fine with the other cats at the shelter. Mister is polydactyl (has extra toes) and this is believed to be "good luck". He has been DECLAWED. He does have to eat a particular type of food, but this food is not expensive and is easily available. For more information, please call Robin at 770/478-7531.
