Donald Joseph Beiter

Donald Joseph Beiter, 71, of Henry County, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 1:30 p.m., at Saint Philip Benizi Catholic Church, with Father John Koziol officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Beiter and Gertrude Beiter; first wife, Virginia Beiter; son, Joel Beiter

A long-time resident of Henry County, Donald Beiter was an airline mechanic for many years. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Beiter, of Stockbridge; four sons, Damian (Gill) Bieter, of Safety Harbor, Fla., Denis (Laura) Beiter, of Louisville, Ky., Theodore (Kimberly) Beiter, of Savannah, Ga., Mark Hall, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Teri Townsend (Joey), of McDonough, Ga.; 8 grandchildren; one brother, Paul (Catherine) Beiter, of Clarence City, N.Y.; 3 sisters, Dorothy Engasser, of Cassadaga, N.Y., Mary (Marv) Bedford, of Alatoona, Fla., Teresa (Jim) Burkhardt, of Lake Darien, N.Y.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel Funeral Home, Jonesboro, (770) 471-7171.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul at St. Phillip Benezi Catholic Church.

Margaret Moore Durham

Margaret Moore Durham, 80, of Riverdale, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Southwest Christian Hospice.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 31, at the Old Shiloh Cemetery, in Shiloh, Ga., with Rev. Jeff Lowe officiating.

Ms. Durham was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Shiloh, the daughter of Otis and Maggie Anderson Moore. She was retired from retail sales. She was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, a former member of Riverdale First United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Debbie D. Hollis, of Fayetteville, and Glenn and Gena D. Blanks, of Newnan; two sisters, Annie Kate Grant, of Shiloh, and Connie Rayburn, of Riverdale; brother, William H. Bailey, of Jonesboro; 6 granddaughters, and 3 great-grandsons.
