Pets of the Week - July 30, 2009

Petunia is a 10 month old Dachshund mix. She has been spayed and fully vaccinated.. This precious little angel is super sweet and affectionate, and just full of puppy energy. She plays well with other dogs of similar size. She is intrigued by cats, and she wants to play with them, but she will chase a cat if given the opportunity. She is very smart and learns quickly. However, she is a puppy and will need someone with plenty of patience to teach her proper doggie manners and to housebreak her. For adoption information, please call Robin at 770/478-7531. Liza is a two year old (approximately) black and white domestic shorthair. She has been spayed and all vaccinations are current. Liza got a rough start in life when some uncaring person thoughtlessly tossed her tiny body into a dumpster, leaving her to die. Luckily, a CCHS staffer was at the local gas station when she heard tiny cries coming from the dumpster. After crawling into the filthy container, she was able to rescue little Liza and bring her to the safety of the CCHS shelter. Because Liza is black and white, she is often overlooked by potential adopters ( black and black/white cats are difficult to adopt out). Liza has grown up at the shelter and needs to finally go into a permanent home. She is a very sweet, sociable little girl, and she does well with other cats.
