Pets of the Week - June 4, 2009

Jules is a 2 month old orange and white domestic shorthair. He has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. This little daredevil was first spotted in the road, and it appeared that he had been hit by a car. When a CCHS volunteer pulled over to try to check on what might have been an injured kitten, the kitten jumped up and ran behind the volunteer's truck, and apparently away from the area. The volunteer drove home and parked in his garage. Later that evening, the same kitten from the roadway appeared in the man's garage. Little Jules had not run away at all....he just "hitched" a ride on the undercarriage of the man's truck! Though Jules was seriously traumatized by his "adventure" for several days, he has now settled down and is enjoying all the attention from everyone at the CCHS shelter and also enjoys playing with the other kittens living at the shelter. Zelda is an 8 month old Shih Tzu/Terrier mix. She has been spayed and all vaccinations are current. This sweet little lady has a great disposition and tons of Terrier energy. She is looking for just the right home, with folks who can be as active as she is......a home with playful children would be ideal. For adoption information, please call Clayton County Humane Society at 770/471-9436. Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
