Clayton County Police are investigating an incident in which one man allegedly attacked another man with a baseball bat early Monday morning, following an argument at a local bar.
Miguel Valerio-Silva, 23, of Riverdale, had a verbal confrontation over a "girlfriend and or/beer" with an unknown suspect at a Clayton County bar late Sunday night, according to a police report.
He left the bar to go home, but his alleged assailant and "several friends" later showed up at the home, on Scarsdale Drive, the police report states.
"The suspect ... had been drinking earlier with victim Silva at a local bar," the police report states.
Once the suspect, and his group, arrived at the Scarsdale Drive location, police say the suspect shattered the window of a green Ford Explorer in which Valerio-Silva was sitting, then struck Valerio-Silva in the head with the bat.
A second suspect, who had a shotgun, fired into the vehicle, then fired a single shot into the air, according to police records.
Valerio-Silva was not shot, according to Lt. Rebecca Brown, a Clayton County Police spokeswoman. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, in Atlanta, in an unknown condition, according to Brown.
Police were working to identify and locate the suspects, Brown said.
