Clayton State University officials are asking the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia to approve the school's seventh master's degree program in nearly four years.

The regents' Committee on Academic Affairs is scheduled to take up three graduate degree-related proposals, and one undergraduate degree request from Clayton State officials today, as the Board of Regents' two-day June meeting begins, according to a copy of the agenda for the session. The regents will meet at the University System of Georgia's office, located at 270 Washington Street, in Atlanta.

University officials are scheduled to ask for permission to establish a master's degree in archival studies; add a degree option to the existing Master of Science in Nursing degree for students who already hold a registered nursing license; and establish a Rockdale County extension site, at the Rockdale Career Academy in Conyers, to offer the school's Master of Business Administration degree.

If the regents sign off on Clayton State's proposed master's of archival studies degree, it will become the seventh graduate-level degree approved for the university since the school's first master's degree program, in the field of liberal arts, was approved in late 2005.

In terms of undergraduate programs, Clayton State administrators are also scheduled to seek permission from the regents to begin offering the university's Bachelor of Business Administration degree at its satellite campus in Peachtree City.
