One man dead, one wounded in shooting August 22, 2014

Pets of the Week - June 11, 2009

Guiness is a two year old longhaired Dachshund. He has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. Guiness is a very sweet little guy, but he has had not much attention or training in his short years. He is definitely going to need someone with a little "doggy know-how", and would probably prove to be too much for a first time pet owner. Guiness is truly a "diamond in the rough", but with time and patience, he will become a really good little pet. He has a great personality and he just needs a little training. Bing is a one year old Snowshoe Siamese. He has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. Bing was found at Animal Control, cowering in the back of a cage, clearly very upset and traumatized by his surroundings. He was immediately rescued and taken to the Clayton County Humane shelter. He cowered there also, and refused to eat. He was then taken to the home of a CCHS staffer, where he has begun to do a "turn around". He is still very, very frightened of fast movement, loud noises, and strangers, but he has bonded with his foster mom and two other foster cats in the home. Bing is going to require a patient, quiet home where he can feel safe and secure. He will likely do best in home with either a single person, or maybe even a couple, but no children. He would probably really like some other kitty friends (he really enjoys playing with other cats) but how he would be around dogs is questionable at this time. He might become accustomed to dogs eventually, but it would likely require some patience and time. Bing is a very sweet, affectionate boy and he will make someone a wonderful companion. He is clean, well-behaved, litterbox trained and has a healthy appetite. For more information, please call Robin at 770/478-7531. Visit to see other animals available for adoption.
