Charles Jay Spell, III

Charles Jay Spell, III, age 59, of College Park died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, and a graduate of Lyman Ward Military Academy. He was a native of Lyons, Ga., and a long-time resident of College Park. Jay was well loved by his many friends.

Jay is survived by one sister, Catha Sue Sapp and husband, Ronald, of Lyons; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 12, at 7 p.m., at Carmichael-Hemperley East Point Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Family burial, in Toombs County, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society at 2625 Cumberland Parkway, Suite 205, Atlanta, Ga., 30339.

Michelle Denise Broadwell

Michelle Denise Broadwell, 38, of Hampton died June 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by her mother, June Broadwell.

She is survived by her father and step-mother, Glynn and Pamela Broadwell; sister, Shannon and Scott Fields of Fayetteville; uncle, Frank and Frances Hill of Jacksonville, Fla.; aunt, Diane and George Presnell of Hampton; one niece and one nephew; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, at 1 p.m., at the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Kiley Goen officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Forest Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
