A teenager was shot in the leg outside a Jonesboro home during a party Friday night, Clayton County police said.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m., at 901 Carter Road. A witness "observed a black female walk up to a white vehicle and state, 'don't do anything stupid,'" according to a police report. The witness told police the white vehicle drove away, but came back and someone inside started shooting, according to the report. Two witnesses said the vehicle resembled a Pontiac Grand Am, the report states. A bullet struck a 15-year-old boy in the leg, according to Clayton County Police Lt. Rebecca Brown. The boy, whose injury "wasn't life-threatening," was treated at a local hospital, Brown said. Another witness told police that she heard people at the party arguing about settling something between two gangs, the police report states. Brown said Monday that no arrests had been made. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477. - Linda Looney-BondMore like this story
