Traffic was backed up on Interstate 75 in McDonough Friday when a vehicle caught on fire.
The incident took place just before 2 p.m., on I-75 southbound near the Jonesboro Road exit. According to Henry County Fire Capt. Sabrina Puckett, the car which caught fire was being hauled by a wrecker. "The car's tire caught fire," she said. "One [fire] engine was dispatched, and was on the scene within 10 minutes of the call to 911." The fire was extinguished approximately four minutes later. No injuries were reported. - Jason A.
