Marcelino Jimenez, Jr.
Mr. Marcelino Jimenez, Jr., age 57, of Jonesboro passed away March 10, 2009. He worked as a teacher for 14 years in Puerto Rico and at Lovejoy High School in Clayton County and taught Sunday school classes at Stockbridge Assembly of God. He was a loving friend, brother, father and husband and will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Luz Jimenez; children, Edna Maria Jimenez of McDonough, Edna Mariel Jimenez of McDonough, Edna Lynette Jimenez of Jonesboro, Marcelino Joel Jimenez of Jonesboro; and brothers, Marcos Jimenez of Puerto Rico, and Miguel Jimenez of California.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m., at Stockbridge Assembly of God. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastors Francisco Martinez and Tony Ayala will officiate. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, Friday, March 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Mrs. Mavis Young, age 64, of Jonesboro passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. She was preceded in death by husband Eddie Young. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Keith E. and Tammie Young; daughter Sheila A. Cowan; sister Peggy Foster; sister and brother-in-law Janis and Walter Westbrook; brother and sister-in-law Elton and Linda Grimes and brother Tom Grimes; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a niece and nephews.
Services will be held Sunday, March 15, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Piedmont, Ala., at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Interment will be at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 14, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Thompson Funeral Home.

Jerry C. Tolbert
Mr. Jerry C. Tolbert of Stockbridge passed away on March 12, 2009 at the age of 72. Mr. Tolbert was retired from the Henry County Department of Transportation where he served as the director in his final years. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, J.C. and Mildred (Hutchinson) Tolbert and sister-in-law Diane Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna Tolbert; daughter and son-in-law Kristi (Jose) Mendoza of Stockbridge; son and daughter-in-law, Nick (Shawn) Tolbert of McDonough; grandchildren, Keri and Chance Hatcher, Journey and Jansen Tolbert; brothers and sisters-in-law David and Kathy Martin of Monroe and Gerald and Trish Baker of Conyers, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 15, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Arthur officiating. Patricia C. Arnold
Patricia C. Arnold died March 8, 2009 at Abbey Hospice. She will be remembered for her kindness and unselfish giving to so many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter E. Arnold.
Survivors include daughter, Lori Pullan (Reed) of Birmingham, Ala., and sons, Doug (Debra) of Covington and Petr of Doraville; grandsons, Robert Pullan and Brigham Arnold and granddaughter, Larkin Arnold.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 14, at 11 a.m., at Morrow Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Historical Jonesboro or Morrow Presbyterian Church.
