jsmith@henryherald.com Authorities in Henry County were working to find the person or persons responsible for sending 141 pounds of marijuana to the area Friday. Henry County Police reportedly discovered the shipment at the Fed Ex Ground, located at 4665 South Park Blvd., in Ellenwood. According Henry Police Capt. Jason Bolton, the discovery stemmed from evidence gathered during an investigation by the Flint Circuit Drug Task Force. "Henry County Narcotics agents conducting an investigation received information ... that a shipment of illegal drugs was en route to an address in Henry County from Phoenix, Ariz.," said Bolton. "The marijuana has a street value of approximately $632,000." Task force agents were unavailable for comment Friday afternoon. Fed Ex officials said they were working with authorities, but declined further comment. "We will be cooperating with the local authorities on this matter, but I can't provide any additional information at this time," said Fed Ex spokesman Steve Barber. Bolton described the investigation as "ongoing."More like this story
