Betty C. Barlow

Mrs. Betty C. Barlow, age 83, of Stockbridge passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 following a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She left behind a wonderful and loving husband of 63 years, Ennis; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Gloria of Stockbridge and Thomas and Debby of Toccoa; three grandchildren, Karen and Eddie Boggess, Bradford Barlow, and Stephen Barlow; two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Edison Boggess; a sister, Mike and John Scheuerman of Florida; a brother, Dave and Shirley Clements of California and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, step-father, a sister, Pat Owens, and a brother, Altie Clements.

Services were held Tuesday, March 24, in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to: Vitas Hospice, 1575 Northside Drive, Suite 470, Atlanta, Ga., 30318 or your favorite charity.

Patricia "Patsy" Kupfer DeWitt

Patricia "Patsy" Kupfer DeWitt, age 75, of McDonough died Sunday, March 22, 2009. She was born in Burlington, Iowa, to the late Fred Paul and Catherine Ruth Jacques Kupfer.

Mrs. DeWitt is survived by her husband, Clarence L. DeWitt, Sr.; children, Pauline DeWitt Wilhoit of Atlanta, Catherine DeWitt Moore of Lawrenceville, Clarence "Roy" L. DeWitt, Jr., of McDonough, Patricia "Joy" DeWitt Henson of Conyers; 10 grandchildren, Mark Moore, Paul Wilhoit, Joseph Moore, James Wilhoit, John Wilhoit, Rachael Hansen, Rebecca Hansen, Alex DeWitt, Nicholas DeWitt, Adam DeWitt and brother, Milton Virgil Kupfer of Tyrone.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, March 29, at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Robert Harrell, John Beckman and the Rev J.R. Pilcher officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Joan Presley Brown

Mrs. Joan Presley Brown, 63, of Jonesboro died March 23, 2009 at the UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. She was born Feb. 21, 1946 to the late William Oliver Presley and Lillie Lankford Presley in Putnam County. In 1964 she graduated from Jonesboro Senior High School. In 2005 she retired after 31 years of public service to the Clayton County Finance Department and was the past president of TOPS Chapter in Fayetteville. She also enjoyed collecting Fenton glass and was a charter member of the Georgia Glass Hoppers.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie Brown; son, Joe Norris and his wife Angie of Hampton; grandsons, Josh and Noah Norris of Hampton; brother, Steve Presley and wife Barbara of Senoia; sister, Sue Franklin and her husband Jim of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, Darrell and Wendy Henderson of Senoia, Sharri Henson of Jonesboro and David and Christy Presley of Milner and cousin and friend, Patsy Wooten of Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., on Thursday, March 26, at the Fayetteville Chapel of Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 12 p.m., at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Eatonton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, March 25, at the funeral home.
